Moving Out to MISSOURI

We would like to invite anyone to come and see Mom, Dad and Kerri before they move. Please feel welcome to come anytime and visit with them.  We have a few Doctors appointments in the mornings but we will be here any other time. I know they would all love to see you.

The house is getting packed and ready for the big move. Gina has been organizing the packing. Grandma, Aunt Launa, and Aunt Berneil and have helped her with it.  Mom, Grandma and I fly out to Missouri Saturday, March 17th. Allen, Grant and a friend from Missouri (Dennis) are flying in on Thursday and loading trucks Friday (16th) and Saturday (17th) and then driving to Missouri in the 18th.

Mom, Dad and Kerri will be living with us for a bit. We are not sure how long.  Mom needs 24 hour supervision right now.  Eventually, we will build them a house next to us. For now here is their new address:

HOME in ABERDEEN

WOW! So much has happened since I last posted on here. I am so sorry, things have just be CRAZY around here.  I want to catch you up on everything...but I think I will just start at where we are now.

Mom came home to Aberdeen yesterday.  She was SO EXCITED!  The first thing we did was stop at McDonalds and get a FILET O FISH sandwich her favorite.  It is fun to see her so excited about little things that we take so much for granted.

We are so glad that mom was able to get into Good Samaritan Rehab.  The staff was amazing and so kind to mom.  She made many friends, many of who shed tears that she was leaving.  I always had several of the staff members stop me and tell me that mom was a favorite patient there and that everyone loved her.

Update on Mom:
I am amazed at her great attitude. I know this is so hard on her in every aspect.  She has kept her sense of humor through it all. She hasnt given up and keep pushing her self hard.

Her speech is coming along very slowly.  However, she communicates quite a but with her body language.  The aprasia is almost gone. So we just mainly have the apraxia now to deal with. This means that her comprehension and understanding is almost 100%, but she can't always communicate just what she means.  Family members and hospital co workers purchased an android tablet for her to communicate with. Speech therapy taught her how to use it and added several programs to it.  Mom loves it!

She is walking several steps now with minimal help. But can't go long distances.  She is able to move the right leg some and we are still working with her arm.

We have a long road ahead but she is doing very well at trying.
